Where there is no vision, the people perish...
For years, I heard this scripture shared in sermons and Bible studies, but this word did not become flesh until I repeatedly found myself in situations were either there was no vision or there was a vision but no plan for execution. In either case, things fell apart. Projects failed and time was wasted. Relationships broke down. People were disappointed.
In contrast, vision coupled with execution produces tangible results and turns vision into reality. The start of each year with the ISBCE is an exciting time because in one hand we hold the mission and vision born from insight and in the other hand we hold the tools and skills divinely provided to bring the goals of the Institute to life.
I am always reminded of the fact that the apostle Paul would have only dreamed of having the tools we have at our disposal to spread the gospel. Digital capabilities have enabled us to connect with fellow laborers across the country and around the world. A live stream can reach thousands of people in moments regardless of location and device to share the testimonies of the Black Christian Experience, and then be archived to provide a resource for those coming behind us. I don't know about you, but I am excited for what this year has in store and how the work of the ISBCE will continue to lead on a global scale.
So we find that were there is vision, we as a people rise, and run, and thrive!
